Light, circadian biology, and neuroscience — explained from the primary literature, not the headlines.

The Signal podcast

The researchers, in their own words.

Long-form interviews with the scientists behind the studies on light, physiology, and health. No hot takes, no compression — the question, the evidence, the mechanism, and the caveats, all the way through.

The Signal newsletter

Where the deeper dives live.

Each issue takes a single paper or question — sun exposure and mortality, vitamin D beyond the supplement, mitochondria and red light — and walks through what it found, how, and what it does and doesn't mean for you.

Speaking & media

Bring the evidence to your stage.

Talks built from the primary literature on light, circadian biology, and human physiology — for conferences, universities, podcasts, and panels that want the mechanism, not the headline.

  • Keynotes on light, circadian biology, and human health
  • Podcast & media appearances
  • Fireside chats & expert panels
  • Brand partnerships & evidence briefs from the primary sources

About: Jonathan Jarecki

The student who loves science and health.

Jonathan Jarecki is a Biology and Neuroscience student at Davidson College and the host of The Signal, a science communication platform spanning a long-form interview podcast, a newsletter, and Instagram.

His work sits at the intersection of health and physiology and the ways environmental inputs — light, water, electromagnetic fields — act on the body as an integrated system. He has spent five years in the primary literature on these questions, and every piece he publishes is built from the original studies.

His research focus and interests include mitochondrial biology, circadian biology, photobiology, and bioelectromagnetism. He works with leading researchers and physicians, leads the Davidson chapter of The Vital Choice Project, serves on the Young Executives Committee at Documenting Hope, and is focused on independent neuroscience research for publication.
